INTRODUCTION

The Urban Business Group LLC. was established in early 2009 by a brother and sister with the goal of creating and distributing denim goods locally as opposed to relying on imports. The URBAN brand was successfully introduced to the domestic market over the past ten years, solidifying its position as the owner of the first denim manufacturing technology in Mongolia and, as a result, building a complex chain of designers, manufacturers, producers, marketers, and retailers of ready-to-wear everyday clothing.

Clothing from the URBAN brand has the distinct advantage of being made to fit Mongolians’ particular body types, lifestyles, customs, natural surroundings, and environment.

Currently, Urban Business Group LLC has six subsidiaries, more than 110 employees, and more than 20 sub-executive companies, which are distinguished by their operational direction and product features. This such amalgamation of creatives present six full collections a year. Our Facebook page “Urban jeans” has 600,000 followers and is already well-known in the Mongolian ready-to-wear market.

Urban-Shop LLC was established in 2021 with the goal of providing its customers with prompt and dependable service using technological advancements, regardless of location or time. This goal was seen as particularly advantageous as we are moving further into an era in which humans are becoming more and more reliant on online services and networks.

Through our e-commerce platform, we always work to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and supply them with high-quality goods and helpful service that will completely satisfy their demands.

“URBAN-JEANS” LLC

Our company is unique in developing the design, manufacturing, and production technology of denim, or as we call it, jean clothing. In 2009, our pioneer, “Denimon” LLC, researched and mastered the technology of denim clothing production, and then began to produce denim clothing and offer it to the market under the brand name URBAN, and thus, the foundation of Urban Jeans LLC was laid. Based on the knowledge and experience gained in the past, we take into account future fashion trends, current consumer preferences, lifestyles, natural and climatic features, economic and social environment, and create products that are perfectly competitive in the market, durable, pleasant, and stylish.
Mongolia was the first to introduce denim clothing manufacturing technology, which few countries in the world possess. We are working hard to stabilize the denim clothing industry by creating workshops for designing, knitting, sewing, washing bleaching, and processing, training workers, and adhering to the 27 standards of denim products that are used around the world.
One of our most famous projects was the creation of the U-fit, which is essentially a fit best suited to Mongolians’ inherent body types. We quickly presented it to the market by incorporating it in our products, and as a result, we swiftly gained customer trust as a “National Brand”.

“URBAN-MODA” LLC

In 2021, “Urban-Moda” LLC was established with the goals of expanding the sale of denim items, introducing supplementary goods to the market, and creating a comprehensive apparel line. By consistently creating inventive production techniques and designs that are compatible with Mongolia’s particular climate, environment, way of life, style, and physical traits, we are helping to improve the reputation and value of the URBAN brand.

“URBAN-BRAND” LLC

At “DENIMON” LLC, a unit in charge of labor protection and professional workwear was established in 2017. Based on this unit’s experience, knowledge, and skills, “URBAN BRAND” LLC was formally established in 2021 with the sole purpose of developing the production of professional workwear, and in just two years, it became the leading company in the industry.
In the past, our company has worked on more than 100,000 products for about 300 customers in coordination with the brandbook of the ordering organization, developed models and technologies in accordance with their professional characteristics and requirements, and prepared and supplied them at a high level of quality standards.

“URBAN-FACTORY” LLC

Urban Factory LLC was founded in 2022 with the goal of exclusively managing all production activities from the conception of the design to the finalization of the final product. Our production history began in 2009 with the establishment of “Denimon” LLC. Throughout the years since the aforementioned establishment, we have effectively developed and utilized sewing, screen printing, embroidery, and fabric printing technologies when manufacturing our goods. Such goods include jeans, everyday wear, sportswear, workforce attire, and traditional garments. According to the knowledge, expertise, and information gained, the created goods have been successfully marketed to the Mongolian ready-to-wear market and have won the approval of local customers.
In addition to working with our own factory, we also collaborate with roughly 20 different subcontractors as a pioneer in the Mongolian garment industry.

Our business works hard to successfully introduce cutting-edge machinery, technologies, and innovations to the apparel market so that they will pique consumers’ attention, satisfy their wants, and raise the bar for product quality.

“URBAN BUSINESS” LLC

The structure that was first established in 2013 as the “Sales Department” of “Denimon” LLC expanded into Urban Business LLC, which aimed to exclusively develop and improve upon trade, services and franchising in April 2022.
The Urban brand was successfully introduced to the Mongolian ready-to-wear market and reached one out of every two targeted consumers. We act as a bridge between product developers and end users. Our top priority is to give customers warm, personalized service in a welcoming setting. To that end, we constantly work to comprehend client demands and preferences and incorporate them into our goods.

We made structural changes to the store system in 2021 and opened a central store, as opposed to having several smaller shops, which allowed consumers to purchase an entire wardrobe from one location while also bringing expenses down to a certain extent. Additionally, it had a significant effect in raising sales revenue.
As of 2023, we are supplying goods to customers via one major branch store in Erdenet and one main store under the “Urban” brand in Ulaanbaatar.

OUR TIMELINE

Denimon” was established in 2009 by the initiative of three founders. It was the first establishment in Mongolia to make clothes with denim, and create garments that would replace imported goods. It is the only factory in the country that manufactures all types of clothes with denim material.

  • The Urban brand won 2nd place in the “National Clothing Category” of the 16th Mongolian Clothing Crafts Festival held by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Culture in Inner Mongolia, China.
  • The Urban brand won the GRAND PRIX award in the category of “Everyday clothing” at the 16th Mongolian Clothing Crafts Festival held by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Culture in Inner Mongolia, China.
  • By introducing the BOKECAD software in the factory, work productivity increased by 35 percent and material utilization increased by 20 percent.
  • The research and testing of materials was regularized and a fund of permanent consumables was formed to meet the requirements.
  • The design of velboa lined denim pants suitable for the cold winter of Mongolia was presented to the market.

2018:

  • Denimon LLC became the Best Taxpayer of the capital, Ulaanbaatar.
  • D. Tungalag, CEO of Denimon LLC, was awarded the highest award of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry: The Best Businesswoman Award.
  • Won the “HANGARD” award, the highest award for establishments aiding in the improvement of the capital.
  • Mastered the technology of fabric printing, embroidery, and cutting, and began to implement it in products.
  • Established a branch company in Inner Mongolia, with the permission of the Chinese Ministry of Economy and Trade and started trial exporting in China.
  • Director General D. Tungalag won the International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge (IWEC) award.

2017:

  • In celebration of the annual Naadam festival, the “KHUREE” collection was officially introduced to the market, thus presenting a variety of traditional clothing put together from denim material. Our clients at the time found this to be especially intriguing. – Received the best designer award from the Goyol Naadam contest.

2014:

2013:

  • In our interest to place a greater emphasis on the designs of our clothes, we increased our number of designers to three.
  • Number of employees: 50. – Our branch at Altantugrug was opened.
  • Based on a survey of 2,000 people’s body measurements, the fit of our pants was improved as the overall template for our designs was changed according to the results of the surveys.
  • In cooperation with Oyu Tolgoi, a workwear fashion show was organized.
  • Mongolian Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag visited our factory to get acquainted with the ever progressing development of small and medium enterprises.

2012:

  • In April 2012, we introduced commission services to our factory and began to
  • produce the desired design according to the body size of the customer.
  • The factory building was expanded to 600m2. – Collaborated with Montmax LLC for marketing and sales.
  • In September 2012, a trade fair was held at Freedom Square.
  • Sales were carried out at branch stores in cooperation with the Mini-Store chain. Number of employees: 23.

2011:

  • In June 2011, after moving the factory premises, we combined our laundry and sewing workshops and moved into a 150m2 building, located in the 2nd district of the Khan-Uul district.
  • Number of employees: 7 – 1 Designer, 3 Tailors, 1Washer, 1 Sander, 1 Thread picker/ Ironer. In November 2011, the factory area was enlarged to 400m2 and the number of employees increased to 18.
  • The logo of the Urban Jeans brand was updated.

 

2010:

  • On April 18, 2010, in the 19th district of Khan-Uul, we started operations in 3 rooms in the basement of a 9-story residential building called the 57th APU building, with 3 workers, 7 sewing machines, 1 tailoring table, and 2 office tables.
  • Changed the factory premises and moved into a 100m2 factory building. And thus, with an additional three workers, therefore making a total of ten workers, we presented our first products to the market.
  • At the 1st khoroo of Khan-Uul district, currently located on the west side of the Sun Bridge, we opened a laundry workshop on the 1st floor of a window manufacturing factory.
  • The first denim products with the Urban Brand logo were produced.
  • In September 2010, the first store was opened next to the “Suohii” store – located at the 3-4th Khoroolol.

2009:

  • Our organization was first founded by the initiative of D. Tungalag, D. Soronzonbold, and T. Enkh-Amgalan, and was registered in the state register as Denimon LLC on the fifth of July, 2009.
  • Being the first producer of denim clothes in Mongolia, the company was named Denimon, combining DENIM, the international name of the material used to make jeans, and MONGOLIA, by the decision of D.Tungalag.

 

  • Aiming to produce denim clothes for the urban youth, the brand name was chosen to be URBAN JEANS on the initiative of D. Soronzonbold.
